Birds of the world

For nearly three years, I worked at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology as a media curator assistant. My primary responsibilities were creating and captioning digital media galleries for species accounts on Birds of the World, a subscription-based website compiling in-depth ornithological research for over 11,000 species.

Working with researchers and editors, I selected photos, videos, and audio clips from Macaulay Library—a wildlife media archive with over 77 million assets—in order to support scientific text for over 100 species accounts.

Additionally, I revised maps for over 30 species using SQL queries and point editing in QGIS; in the process, I cross-referenced scientific literature and researcher feedback. I also revised the text of over 200 species for taxonomic accuracy.
